Our Kateson onesie sets work as a perfect base for endless Halloween costume ideas. It is also warm and cozy for those chilly trick or treating nights. Here we added DIY felt deer antlers and ears to our onesie hat hand-dyed in Neem.
Materials
- Kateson organic onesie set hand-dyed in Neem
- 2 9x12 sheet of dark brown eco-fi felt made from 100% post consumer plastic bottles with sticky backs
- scissors
- marker to draw and trace antlers
- 2 safety pins
- 2 brown pipe cleaners
Step 1
Free style draw 2 antlers, cut them out and trace 2 copies of each antler on the felt. Cut out each shape.
Step 2
Bend 2 pipe cleaners to match the center stem of the antlers. Stick the pipe cleaner in between 2 cut out sheets of felt and add some cotton filling. Close the sides of the antler using the felt sticky back.
Step 3
Center the antlers on the outside of the hat and use 2 safety pins to keep them in place.
Step 4
Cut out 2 ears and pinch the bottom to create an ear fold. Remove sticky backing and stick the ears in the inside fold of the hat.
Step 5
Optional: Add some non-toxic black facepaint crayon on the nose, and you have yourself the sweetest baby deer!
